Meet Dr. Steve Carstensen

Dr. Steve Carstensen

I am fully committed to dentistry because I believe dental health is critical for comfort throughout our lifetime. Each patient is different with different needs. I always take time to get to know my patients in order to provide them with individual treatment that is right for their health and lifestyle. I know I’ve done my job well when my patients come in looking forward to their appointments!

Education and Continuing Education

I graduated from the Baylor College of Dentistry in 1983, and have been learning about dentistry ever since! My profession is always changing and evolving with new technologies and methods. It’s a very exciting field, and I strive to stay on top of emerging research and procedures.

As a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, I have demonstrated my commitment to constant learning, with more than 2,500 hours of education after dental school! As a faculty member of two dental education institutes, I must keep up with the latest learning in dentistry to be a great teacher. This benefits our patients, because I always have the latest information available to help them. I also volunteer on a national level for American Dental Association, making it possible for more dentists to learn the best ways to help their patients.

In the Office

There is nothing like having appreciative patients thank us for helping them feel better about their health or appearance. For 27 years, my patients have trusted in my commitment to providing them with the highest quality dental treatments and the most comfortable experience possible.

We have carefully chosen one another to meet our common goal of providing individualized, future-focused, preventive oriented care to every person. We enjoy working together, and share a commitment to comfort and oral health for our patients.

If you want to meet dental professionals who don't take themselves so seriously that they can't have any fun, come see us. We will honestly listen to your story and we won't pretend to know everything. We are convinced you are the best expert about your own health!

Family and Community

I grew up in Seattle and have lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of my life. What a beautiful place to live! Midge, my wife, graduated from dental hygiene school when I graduated dental school, and we've been business partners also for all these years! In my spare time, I enjoy photography, boating, golf, reading, watching movies. I also get a lot of pleasure from teaching others.

Our community is very important to me, and I do what I can to help those who need it. I have been involved with Tent City, an encampment for the homeless, and have volunteered at dental clinics for the underserved. I also volunteer for local and state dental foundations.
